Iowan George B. Leibfried founded Avalon Garage in 1938 to serve as a local repair shop and gas station. His business expanded over the next several decades to incorporate different products and services. George B. Leibfried’s son Victor became part of the business in 1955, eventually followed by Victor's own sons: Kenny, George V., and Mark. In 1983, Avalon Garage entered the trailer market, and in 1990, it was time for a name change to Avalon Service Center.

In 1993, Dave Freiburger, a devoted Avalon employee for over a decade, became a partner with Kenny, George V., & Mark Leibfried. Longtime salesman, Dale Heitz, became a partner in 2013 when it was time for Kenny and George V. to leave the business. In 2022, the fourth generation joined the fold when Matt Leibfried, George V.’s son, and his wife Sara joined the company, along with Bo and Tara Duggan.
